In a Season of Pain, There Is Purpose

Today in church, I was reminded to conduct my life in a way that pleases God. And the Gospel reminded me: “The last will be first, and the first will be last.” — Matthew 20:16

One accident can change your life forever.

One unexpected event.
One moment of distraction.
One slip on water in your own home.
One incident that happens while you are simply sitting on your couch.

Life can change in an instant.

So what do we do when we find ourselves in a season we never planned for?

Do not despair.

If you are on a journey of healing and recovery, remember that God has been there through the accident, through the pain, through the uncertainty, and through every difficult day. And He will see you through.

Perhaps there is a lesson to learn.

Perhaps there is a talent waiting to be discovered.

Perhaps there is a faith that needs to be reignited.

Perhaps there is a business waiting to be created.

Perhaps there is a purpose you could not see before because life was moving too quickly.

We may not understand the season we are in, but we can still ask God what He wants to do with it.

In a season of pain, there is purpose.

Do not despise the season.
Do not give up on yourself.
Do not assume that because your life changed, your purpose ended.

Sometimes, what feels like an interruption becomes the beginning of something we never imagined.

Conduct your life in a way that pleases God. Trust Him with the journey. And keep going.
